Today on the M&NJ

The big news among O&W fans and, maybe, a considerable number of Middletown residents as well is the commencement of the massive project by the City of Middletown to rebuild the former O&W station and headquarters building which has been left vulnerable to the onslaught of weather and vandals for decades. The O&W RHS celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1988 and, as part of the celebration, former O&W NW-2 No. 116, privately owned and operating on the NYS&W, was posed by the station on November 6th.

The city now owns all three former railroad stations within its limits. The Erie station has housed Thrall Library for many years. The city recently acquired the M&NJ station at East Main Street.and may use it in conjunction with the Heritage Rail Trail. But for now, the focus will be on the O&W station. P. Brill photo
